I am Hani, the guy behind this whole MTB Egypt thing. I am 27 and currently a graduate student.
I've always been into cycling. I started mountain biking a while ago and was surprised to see so few Egyptians ride. I thought there must be interest in such a sport, but people just don't know much about it. A few resources were available here and there, but nothing with concise, detailed info on where, how and why to go off-road cycling. This website and forum is an attempt to fill this void and promote the sport in Egypt, largely because I think Cairenes need to get out of Cairo more
The website has been online for about a year now and we've been organizing regular rides for many skill levels. In February 2009, we organized the first ever amateur MTB race in Wadi Degla, thanks to the help and enthusiasm of an amazing team of volunteers. We're thinking of making the race a bi-annual event and are currentely preparing for the next race in fall 2009.
Next please!
