What kind of bike do you have (rigid, hardtail, full-suspension?)? If bought in Egypt, where from? Is the shop any good? Do they provide quality bikes and service?
I have a Gitane Rocks 1.1 hardtail that I bought from Besceletta in Heliopolis. The bike itself is very good: Strong french-made aluminum frame, good SRAM components and Suntour front fork with a lock-out (lower end but still good), and solid build.

The shop itself is another story: They just want to sell you stuff, they don't know much about bikes. I don't know much about their service and warranty because I didn't try servicing my bikes there, but I am not very optimistic.

My other bike is a Specialized FSR XC (2008) that I bought in New York, USA at a shop called Bicycle Renaissance, which has quiet a reputation for professional bike mechanics, but they wouldn't price-match the bike for another shop where the bike was offered for $100 less (gave me some store credit for accessories though). Excellent bike with plush ride and quality components.
I bought my bike online from Johnson Cycles located in South Africa at the recommendation of the mtb expert, Hani! I would totally recommend that shop to anybody who is willing to import a bike. The person I dealt with was professional, knowledgable & very pleasant (the fact that he was a fellow Egyptian helped too Smile ). When I received the bike it was semi-assembled but in prime condition. None of the accessories promised were missing & I even received a couple of surprise items. I definitely had a smooth remoate shopping exerpience with Johnson Cycles.

I tried visiting one shop in Cairo, Sports Mall Mohandeseen to be exact, but found the experience to be a lot of hassle since at the time I had no real knowledge of bikes &, to my unshocked discovery, the vendors were equally unknowledgeable & totally unhelpful.

My bike is a GTw Avalanche 3.0 hardtail that is specifically designed for women. It has a very solid frame yet isn't so heavy. For me, my bike is really comfortable because it accomdates my frame, my height & weight. It comes with, as I have discovered later, pretty good & reasonable components for its price that I can upgrade later. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my choice.
Hi Hani...

I got my Jeep bike from Besceletta too.. and I would not recomend you go to them for anything else honestly. Somehow they managed to ruin my bike, and im FURIOUS to say the least! They are a bunch of liars, and anything they screw up, they blame the user for doing so.

That's unfortunate. What kind of problems are you having with your bike? Most repair issues are actually pretty simple and with the help of online guides and some tools you can get things in ridable condition.

About Jeep bikes (or any other car-branded bikes, for that matter): Jeep doesn't actually make any mountain bikes (so doesn't BMW, Ferrari, Subaru, and other car manufacturers with bikes using their brand. You are paying for a sub-par bike with an inflated price becuase of the logo/name stickered on it. In all fairness, some of these bikes (but not the ones currently offered in Egypt) are not bad if priced fairly for their component level. For example: BMW currently offers a nice full-suspension trail bike via their branded merchendise website in Europe, but you will pay about 2000 Euros more than if you bought the exact same bike/spec without the BMW logo (with some other brand, that is), as the OEM manufacturer is well-known Taiwan-based bike manufacturer.

That said, just continue to ride your bike until you see that ride enough to upgrade. It will be a good chance to learn bike maintenance without breaking something very expensive Smile
Thank you Hani for your reply.. I don't know how on God's green earth did they mess up my suspension system. I went in for a rim change and they screwed up something up that made my suspension rigid as a ROCK! And to fix it they greased the hell out of it. So right now im sort of without suspension.. On the bright side, I did decide to do exactly what you suggested, and work on my bike alone, and see where that takes me, until I am satisfied and confident enough to get a new one! But lesson learned im not going back there for sure.

But generally speaking i am quite satisfied with my bike, I mean it does the job Smile I haven't tried anything else, so i have don't have a frame of reference really.. So yeah for now im satisfied, and maybe in a year or so go for a more advanced model. Hopefully by then cycling would something big in Egypt and i could find the models i want over here!
If you have spring preload adjustment on your fork then they might have set the preload too high. Good luck and let us know if you need assistance.
I have a Scott Scale 40, hard tail, bought it from Wolfis in Dubai. Its an excellent store, yet a little bit on the more expensive side.
I also have a hard tail Dimaond Back ring Zcomp, 2000 model, got it from the US.
I have full suspention mountain bic Pegout KINETIK 3300. I bought it from bescletta I don't recomment any one to deal with them. They are group of liars and cheaters.

After I bought my bike I found it on the internet as Fusion KINETIK 3300 not Pegout. So, they exported it from china as Pegout with a fake Pegout Logo. Sad

I'm satisfied with my bike it comes with Shimano Alivio components & strong alumnum frame but the front crank not shimano. Any way I will change it soon ISA by shimano alivio crank because the middle shield bended recently Sad.

I asked bescletta to change the front the crank for me with shimano crank then they replied we don't have a proper shimano crank for my bike "They are the worst and expensive bike shop". So, they fixed it for me but its not working properly. Sad so, I'll buy it online my self.
