so yep i live in Egypt never rode a mountain bike before .. but i wanted to buy one .. i saw a guide in this site .. but it said that the budget is going to be at least 1.5 - 2 k , right now i only have 1 k max ( L.E ) so i have no idea where to get a good bike in Egypt .. and as your guide said the workers there doesn't have a good knowledge about bikes ! so its kinda frustrating
so what can i do and which bike should i get for a 1000 LE ?
and btw .. i probably gona ride it more in the city .. so .. just for the record
is 1000 isn't enough ? , should i just wait ? i was just thinking i wanna buy it like today or tomorrow or a week at MOST .. but i can't get another 1 k in a week ... ( im 18 u know .. not working or anything .. )

Well, the short answer is that L.E. 1000 will not buy you a good mountain bike. Basic hardtails with the lowest spec levels from Shimano/SRAM currently start at L.E. 1500 and above in Egypt.

That said, and if you don't intend to take it off-road, you will find many Chinese-made bikes for under L.E.1000 which would do the job of a basic city bike/commuter, non of which I can recommend in good conscious
